Jason has been passionate about cooking since childhood and began working in restaurants at the age of 14. After graduating from UMass Amherst with a BS in Restaurant Management as well as the Culinary Institute of America with an Associates in Culinary Arts, he staged at several acclaimed restaurants, then went on to co-open the popular Scotland Yard in San Fransico, CA. From there, he led the culinary teams at Finn Town Tavern and Comstock Saloon, where he expanded the food program and gained accolades for his innovative dishes, including Zagat's 30 Under 30 in 2016.
Diving head first into Maui's culinary scene in 2020, he founded the nonprofit Chef Collective for Covid to fund local farms, empower regional chefs, and feed vulnerable communities. Meanwhile, he continued to work as the executive chef consultant for San Francisco restaurants such as Mission Street Burgers and Curio, as well as operated his private chef and catering business here on Maui. In the wake of the Lahaina fire of 2023, he organized and is currently the Executive Chef at the Hua Momona Foundation who have led food security efforts in West Maui.
